For
cats like Thomas our Cat Cabins are lifesavers
Sometimes
Cat Cabins are temporary houses for cats until we can find them a
permanent home, but other times, they can make all the difference
between life and death. Take Thomas's story. Last summer, Thomas was
found in a garden suffering a multiple jaw fracture. We rushed him to a
vet, who discovered that Thomas was also dehydrated due to the heat.
Back in
a Cat Cabin, Thomas was given liquidised food and lots of specialist
care until he made a full recovery.
He now
lives with a loving couple. By sponsoring a Cat Cabin, you will be
helping to save the lives of more cats like Thomas.

Knit
one ... purrrl one!
Tutor
group 9W are knitting blankets to donate to the Cats Protection
League. Each cat has its own blanket and, when a cat is re-homed, its
blanket goes too as having something familiar around helps it to feel
more secure.
Tutor Mrs Smith said 'The Wellingborough and Rushden branch rehomed 267
cats last year.
The tutor group appealed for donations of wool and knitting needles and
now students are knitting small squares which will be sewn together
into blankets, as well as coming up with fund-raising ideas. They are
being helped by technician Mrs McAlpine who has given the students a
masterclass in the basics of knitting.
Mrs Smith, who got her two cats from the Cats Protection League, said:
'We are really animal-orientated as a tutor group and talk about our
pets all the time. This project means that students not only learn a
skill but they are also doing something for charity. It shows them that
you don't need money to contribute to charity, you just need a good
idea and a bit of effort. Some of the A Level students have had a go as
well so this project has really fired the students' imaginations.
